Thanksgiving Team Party

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Thanksgiving Potluck and Funky Doubles Tournament! Needless to say, the food was scrumptious. So many varieties of meat, veggies, fruits, desserts, more desserts, and drinks.

But even better was the entertainment -- the exciting, super intense matches between the parent/coach pairs and the students. Boy were the parents vicious when it came to the tournament! No mercy for their opponents. We were all kept at the edge of our seats, as the rallies went back and forth. Hopefully none of you will be too sore tomororw. :)

We hope everyone had fun playing, eating, and spectating! Thank you everyone for the great food and entertainment. Congratulations to the winners!

Miami Pan Am Int'l

While most of us were here playing BAO tournament, half of our coaches flew off to Florida for the Miami Pan Am International (11/11-11/14). This was truly an international tournament, with players from Denmark, Spain, Canada, and many South American countries. Surprisingly there were very few USA players.

Our coaches did quite well, considering this was their first international tournament in quite a while. Unfortunately, Minh was sick for most of the tournament (and has obviously brought it back home!). Anyhow, our coaches played hard and played well.

Topher made it to quarterfinals in MS. Minh and Topher made it to semi-finals in MD. Minh and Paula made it to semi-finals in XD. And...Paula and her partner Priscilla won WD! Congrats and we look forward to seeing even more better results at these big tournaments in the near future. ^_^

BAO Fall 2009 (11/14-11/15)

This year's BAO Fall 2009 was surely a long and tiring tournament. :[ Saturday's matches ran from 7.30am to 11.30pm! One of the reasons it was such a long tournament was because the number of participants was HUGE. And we can partly thank our own club for that. This was the first ever tournament for Dublin team!

We had close to 60 players from Sunnyvale team and a handful of players from both Campbell and Dublin teams. With so many kids and unfortunately three of our coaches MIA, it was a very busy weekend for us. The "best" win at this tournament was that all 4 semi-finalists in DMS were from our club! There were a lot of close and very intense games overall. Good job to everyone and congrats to the winners!
